Learn Why Social Networks Plans to Implement TV-Style Programming

Have you noticed a new trend in social media marketing? Now, most of these social media platforms are focusing on attracting large crowds with enabling long videos. Earlier we use to have short videos overall social media platforms, but now the users want something new that is beneficial and entertaining for them in various ways.

Long videos are just perfect as they can deliver a content in a broader manner. Shorter videos can only summarize the review, product’s description, and also, may communicate a simple news headline. This just gives an awareness but doesn’t explain in detail. And this is why users look for something that will answer all their questions.

And recently this June, IGTV was released by Instagram. IGTV is a new platform where you can upload long forms of videos. You can create a channel and just start sharing your videos. To create an effective branding, read our blog on How to Get an Effective Branding with Instagram’s IGTV.

Moving on to what people want, according to a recent study, it was found that users between the ages 18 and 24 are actually quite interested in watching TV shows on their favourite social media platforms.  Imagine in a few years from now, you can log in on any platforms, and watch your favourite TV shows.

The main reason behind these growing users on social media is because everyone wants minimalism. Everything in just one platform. You can log in, message, chat, call, share posts, play games, and now, watch long videos. Hence, mobile viewing is massively growing in all parts of the world. And it has been estimated that out of 5, only 1 will use their desktop or laptop to view any TV-shows.

Facebook, for instance, launched Watch for long videos. It was created to bring in the large audience for the companies whether small or big. Top celebrities such as Jada Pinkett Smith, who launched her own talk show this year, called Red Table Talk successfully cumulated more than 1 million views. And these videos have been watched on Facebook itself!
