Google’s Local Pack Updated: The 7-pack is now the 3-pack.
Did you know? Google’s local pack now has lesser businesses listed. The 7-pack is now the 3-pack.
Google has been making many changes; changes have now been made in the local space for Google local business listings. Now it doesn’t show 7 businesses in the pack and in the map, those spots are now only available for 3 businesses. The local pack is not just showing fewer business listings, it is also redesigned to fit more with the mobile user interface. This will lead to fewer calls to businesses that appeared in the fourth position or below, but will benefit the ones on top 3.
Who noticed it?
SEO expert, Mike Blumenthal, was the first one to notice that the 7-packs had dropped down to only 3. Unusually, the change was made in the US and internationally at once.
No Exact Addresses –
Exact addresses have also been removed from the listings, limiting it only to street name. One has to click the website or the map to get the complete address.
No Phone Numbers –
The mobile version does not display the phone number but does have a “Call” option for each listing.
Store Hours Added –
Opening and closing hours for the stores have been added, depending on the time the search is made.
Reviews No Longer “Google Reviews” –
Now the reviews are simply called “review” instead of “Google reviews”.
